Tsuchiyama-juku Hojin
This was the site of an inn for nobles staying in Tokaido Tsuchiyama-juku. Tsuchiyama was the spot on which the 49th post-stationed town of Tokaido was built. There used to be two Hojin in Tsuchiyama, the Tsuchiyama and the Daikokuya, but now only the Hojin of Tsuchiyama, which was established when the 3rd Tokugawa shogun, Iemitsu was stationed in Kyoto, remains. Inside the building, there are gorgeous artifacts like thrones, guest registry books as well as the name plates of Daimyos, as well as quarters suitable for the Daimyos, court nobles and public servants, preserved just as they were in olden days.
