The Hamamatsu Museum of Musical Instruments, opened in April of 1995, is the only public musical instrument museum in Japan and also the largest in Asia. When it was opened, although two-thirds of the instruments were European, they now have many instrument from around the world like Asian, African after the renovation in March of 2006. This museum explains how wonderful instruments are by displaying real samples, as well as having "watching" exhibitions through pictures and video, "listening" exhibitions through headphones and headsets, as well as a hands-on section where you can touch and use the instruments.
