Miya Festival

The Miya festival which is held for two days every October is a magnificent festival in which many men called Ujiko pull giant deity floats. Especially on the second day, the four special deity floats are pulled about 300m into the ocean in a ritual called "Kaichutogyo," which means "to cross through the sea." The atmosphere of these festival can only be expressed as "massive" and is a very rare sight, even throughout Japan.
