Yokohama's China Town, with its 140 year history has over five hundred shops in a 0.2 square kilometer area. Since it is popular with foreigners as well as with Japanese people, the town is always crowded with people. Together with Kobe's Nankinmachi and Nagasaki's Shinchi China Town, Yokohama's is known as one of the "big three" China towns in Japan.
