Mt. Fuji is a volcano stretching over Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures, also known as "Rose Peak" or "Wealthy Pinnacle" because of its beautiful elegance. In ancient times it was said to be a sacred mountain. Today people can make the ascent from Gotemba or Fujiyoshida. Mt. Fuji is well loved by many people.
